Coordinator in Social Services

Do you want to help shape the future of social services? Do you want to coordinate and develop new cross-professional working methods to identify children and young people in need of support early? We are now looking for someone to work as a coordinator within our cross-departmental work between four departments (Preschool & Primary School, High School & Labor Market, Individual & Family Care, Culture & Leisure) with the motto “No child should fall through the cracks”.

The work is also carried out in close collaboration with Region Halland.

We are currently working on changes to enhance our ability to offer early support to our children and young people. Examples of changes include the introduction of first and second line social services to better manage different types of cases and provide more tailored services. Additionally, we are expanding staff groups to strengthen our capacity in preschool and primary school, high school, social services, and culture and leisure.

The Role of Coordinator with Us

As a coordinator, you will be responsible for receiving and coordinating cases concerning children aged 0-20 throughout the municipality. Cases can be raised by all professionals in the municipality. Coordinating cases involves determining which collaboration forum is most helpful and which services should be invited. You need to have a good overview of the collaboration forums we have in the municipality. The interventions will largely take place in collaboration with other actors such as culture and leisure, the police, schools, and health care.

The collaboration forums included are TSI teams (early coordinated interventions), SSPF (Social Services, School, Police, Leisure), STOP meetings, and school social teams. As a coordinator, you will be responsible for leading the TSI meetings. In your role, collaboration is the starting point, as well as thinking holistically from a preventive perspective at both the individual and group level.

You will be employed by the Department of Individual & Family Care and work closely with our other coordinator who is employed within the Department of Preschool & Primary School. You and our other coordinator will also be responsible for conducting analysis and follow-up of the work. You will be part of the first line social services for individual and family care and have close cooperation with management and social workers in collaboration with the police at the unit.

Kungsbacka's coordinated efforts and the role of coordinator are new to the municipality, which means that the content of the job description may change over time, based on our focus on those we serve and our ambition to create a needs-driven first line social service.

Your Profile

As a person, you have a humble and unpretentious approach, which means you are interested and curious. You have a good ability to work both independently and in teams. Since the role involves a lot of contact with various collaboration partners, we are looking for someone who has a very good ability to collaborate and is comfortable in collaboration. You have a very good ability to create and maintain good relationships. You enjoy working both strategically and operationally, and you have a good analytical ability.

Since your assignment is performed largely in collaboration with others, you need to be comfortable working in the organizational space where collaboration occurs based on our families' needs. You have an interest in contributing to the development of a more preventive and accessible social work in collaboration, before problems grow too large. You should have a good ability to adapt your perspective and see opportunities.

You are a good communicator who can express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing, and can convey a message in a pedagogical way. You have an understanding of what it is like to work in a politically governed organization. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Degree in Social Work
• Driver's license (B)
• Good knowledge of the mission and work of social services

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in authority work with children and young people
• Experience in support and treatment work with children and young people
• Experience with SSPF
• Experience working in a coordinating role
• Experience in crime prevention work

You will be employed at the Preventive Unit for Children and Young People. The unit consists of three groups: the prevention team, the reception group for children and young people, and the open care group for children and young people. The unit is part of the first line social services for children and young people. There is good collegial support and a welcoming climate where we collaborate and help each other.

Our Offer and Additional Information

We offer a permanent full-time position with placement according to agreement.

Estimated timeline: Selection 1 will take place during week 2 of 2026. Interviews will be held in week 3, on Monday, January 12, and Thursday, January 15, in the afternoon. Selection 2 will take place during week 4. Group interviews will be held in week 5, on Monday, January 26, in the afternoon.

It takes only 20 minutes by train from Gothenburg, and the city hall is located in Kungsbacka, opposite the central station. Working hours are spent in the city hall.

Before an offer of employment, an acceptable extract from the police criminal record must be presented. The type of extract that should be requested is an extract for work with children in activities other than school and childcare.
